Privacy policy: VEGA Wine

VEGA Wine for iPhone. Last updated 9 August 2026.

VEGA Wine keeps what you record on your iPhone, and only there. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server run by VEGA Works. Nothing you record is sent anywhere.

What the app stores

Everything the app records is written to a file on your iPhone. That file holds:

  • the bottles you add
  • what you have finished
  • your tasting notes and ratings
  • the pairings you asked for
  • the taste profile the app builds from your own ratings

None of it leaves your phone. VEGA Works never receives it, because there is nowhere for it to be sent.

What the app does not collect

The app has no account and no sign-in. It never asks who you are.

  • No analytics and no crash reporting
  • No advertising and no tracking
  • No third-party SDKs
  • No request for your location
  • No access to your contacts, calendar, messages, health data, or browsing

Camera and photos

The camera and your photo library are used for one thing: a bottle label you choose to photograph or pick.

The photo is read on your phone to fill in a draft entry. Nothing is written to your collection until you confirm that draft. The photo is not uploaded.

Apple Intelligence

On iPhones that support it, the app can use Apple Intelligence for two things. It can read a label, and it can write a plain explanation of a pairing.

Where a request would go to Apple's Private Cloud Compute, iOS tells you, and Apple's terms apply.

The app works without Apple Intelligence. Every one of those features has a path that does not use it.

The map of your bottles

The app can show where your bottles come from on a map. Those places are taken from a table built into the app. Nothing about what you drink is sent in order to place a pin.

Drawing the base map does need a network connection. Apple receives the area of map being drawn, under Apple's Privacy Policy.

A list of the same places is available, and it needs no map at all.

Purchases

There is nothing to buy in the app.

Children

The app is not directed at children, and it collects nothing about age.

Deleting your information

Deleting the app removes everything it stored. Because nothing was sent anywhere, there is nothing left for us to delete.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes are also noted in the app's release notes.
